WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO LICENSE A DOG?
     Within 10 days of acquiring a dog over 6 months old
     Within 10 days of moving into town
     When your puppy turns 6 months of age
     If you are keeping a dog for someone else for more than 10 days, and it is not registered in the town that you live in.

Current proof of rabies vaccination is required to license a dog.  Bring proof of spay/neuter, a certificate or bill from the vet showing spay/neuter status.


Fees:

$6.00 spay/neutered
$11.00 unaltered
$1.00 License transfer of current year license from another Maine town

Dog licenses are due December 31st of each year

Through January 31st:  Grace Period - No Fine

Starting February 1st:  Late registration fee of $25.00 fine per dog (state mandated and are not negotiable) for any dog that you have failed to register by January 31st or within 10 days of being notified by the Town that you must register your dog(s).
