The Town of Searsmont contracts with Murphy Appraisals for assessing services. The Assessor is in the Searsmont Town Office two Tuesday's per month, usually the second and fourth Tuesday, and is available by phone or in person on those days, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or you may leave a message with the office staff and he will return your call on his next day in the office. His schedule is subject to change, and is posted on the Community Calendar.
Property Tax Abatements
Property tax abatements may be granted by the Assessors upon written application filed within 185 days of commitment stating the grounds for the request. Abatement may be granted to correct any illegality, error, or irregularity in assessment. ( MRSA Title 36 §841.)
